Le Moot Shanghai est l’un des plus importants pré-moots en Asie du Willem C. Vis Moot, le plus prestigieux moot dans le domaine de l’arbitrage commercial international, promouvant l’étude et la pratique du commerce international et du droit de l’arbitrage par la participation d’étudiants en droit à des concours de moot.
Avec une participation record, l’évènement qui s’est tenu à distance a enregistré des équipes de 60 universités et collèges du monde entier concourant en ligne et a rassemblé plus de 250 universitaires, avocats et juristes de haut niveau dans le domaine du règlement des différends commerciaux internationaux, venus du monde entier. Ils ont agi en tant qu’arbitres dans le tribunal fictif et ont fourni une expérience pratique précieuse aux étudiants participants.
La pandémie mondiale n’a donc pas dissuadé les étudiants universitaires de participer au Moot de Shanghai de cette année. Au contraire, la pratique des audiences à distance en matière d’arbitrage commercial international en pleine pandémie a été le catalyseur idéal pour que l’événement se déroule entièrement à distance.
Co-organisé par deux universités de droit de Shanghai, le Centre d’arbitrage international de Shanghai (SHIAC) et la Chambre de Commerce Internationale (CCI), l’évènement bénéficié du soutien de nombreuses institutions d’arbitrage international et de droit commercial international (le Centre d’arbitrage international de Hong Kong, le Centre d’arbitrage international de Singapour, l’Institut coréen d’arbitrage commercial, le Centre de médiation internationale de Singapour, la CCI de Hong Kong, etc.)
Nous sommes fiers d’avoir pu, en collaboration avec le cabinet Huyie – notre partenaire stratégique, fournir l’espace et les installations de réunion nécessaires. Nos associés, Huini Li -experte reconnue de la CISG- et Alban Renaud ont modéré plusieurs tours de la compétition en tant qu’arbitres, et fourni commentaires et suggestions aux participants de différents pays.

Our Shanghai office hosts the 2021 “Moot Shanghai” International Commercial Arbitration Moot (11th edition from March 8 to March 12th, 2021)
The Moot Shanghai is one of the largest pre-moots in Asia of the Willem C. Vis Moot, the most prestigious moot in the field of international commercial arbitration, promoting the study and practice of international business law and arbitration law through law student participation in moot competitions.
With a record turnout, the remotely held event registered teams from 60 universities and colleges from around the world competing online and brought together more than 250 leading academics, lawyers and jurists in the field of international commercial dispute resolution from around the world. They acted as arbitrators in the moot court and provided valuable hands-on experience to the participating students.
The global pandemic did not deter university students from participating in this year’s Moot Shanghai. On the contrary, the practice of remote international commercial arbitration hearings in the midst of the pandemic was the perfect catalyst for the event to be held entirely remotely.
Co-organized by two Shanghai law universities together with the Shanghai International Arbitration Centre (SHIAC) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the event obtained supports of many international arbitration and international commercial law institutions (the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Korean Commercial Arbitration Institute, the Singapore International Mediation Centre, the Hong Kong ICC, etc.).
We are proud that together with Huiye Law Firm – our strategic partner, we were able to provide the necessary meeting space and facilities. Our partners, Huini Li – a recognized CISG expert – and Alban Renaud moderated several rounds of the competition as referees, and provided comments and suggestions to the participants from different countries.
